The Director General National Directorate of Employment, NDE, Silas Agara, has stated the directorate’s commitment to tackling unemployment in the country.
This is as he said the commitment is in line with the Renewed Hope Agency of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The DG stated this during NDE’s Special Day at the 46th Kaduna International Trade Fair themed “Promoting Efficiency in Manufacturing, Agriculture and Trade through Digital Transformation”.
He noted that the e Renewed Hope Initiative aims to engage 93,731 unskilled and unemployed individuals across the country.
According to Agara, the NDE was providing a platform for beneficiaries of its skills acquisition programmes to showcase their products and services in order to promote economic growth and employment. He added that the agency was launching a mobile application to connect Nigerians with services provided by its trained beneficiaries.
The DG stated that directorate’s participation in the Trade Fair, was expected to provide opportunities for budding entrepreneurs. And to help them to interact with professionals in the international business community, promoting economic empowerment.
In his remarks, KADCCIMA President, Ishaya Idi, commended the NDE for its continuous participation in the fair. He noted that the agency has significantly contributed to the growth of SME’s. And has also provided tools for Nigerians to become self-reliant.
Recall that Kaduna International Trade Fair is a major platform for business owners. It helps them to gain exposure and have access to the business world.
NDE’s participation, at the Fair is a testament to its commitment to promoting self-employment creation and economic growth.
