The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, has declared that there is no vacancy in the Aso Villa currently occupied by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
This is even as the former Kano State Governor advised Northern politicians to shelve their presidential ambitions.
This was contained in a statement the APC National Chairman made on Tuesday while receiving members of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Media Centre (PBAT Media Centre) and Tinubu Northern Youth Forum (TNYF) who paid him a courtesy visit at the party National Secretariat in Abuja.
Addressing the members, Ganduje recalled that former President, Muhammadu Buhari incidentally from Katsina in the North West zone enjoyed a two-term of eight years. He, therefore, insisted that it was the turn of President Bola Tinubu from Southwest to exercise another 8 years mandate. This, he said is in fulfillment of power rotation between North and South.
He pointed out that any politician of Northern extraction nursing a presidential ambition in 2027 must be on a wild goose chase. This, he said, is because “the north-south sharing formular must strictly be adhered to.”
“When a leader from the northern part of this country was in office for 8 years, we advocated that the next president in our party should come from the south.
“And luckily enough, we worked very hard with the cooperation of Nigerians. Our President has come from the south and is going, inshallah, for second term, 2027. And then after that, it will return to the northern part of this country,” the APC National Chairman said.
Addressing the economic situation in the country, Ganduje noted that the Tinubu’s administration is on track. He said, “there is no doubt that many things went wrong over a long period of time. And it requires surgery before we can get it right.”
Ganduje, therefore, assured that the economic policies of the present administration would turn around the fortunes of Nigerians for good.
He said, “We are happy that we have started seeing the outcome of the reforms, especially on the economic front. And we believe this will continue to yield positive results. So, that the legacy and the Renewed Hope Agenda will be achieved.”
In his remarks, leader of the PBAT Media Centre, Honourable Dada Olusegun thanked the National Chairman. He stated that members of the Centre are set to correct all the wrong narratives about the present administration.
Olusegun noted that his team would give adequate publicity to the 2027 campaign of the present administration.
Earlier, the National Coordinator of the Tinubu Northern Youth Forum, Mallam Auwal Ibrahim thanked the National Chairman. He acknowledged the efforts of President Tinubu to revamp the economy. And noted that the policies and programmes introduced by the present administration have started to yield positive results in the region.
