Ahead of the Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, 2025/2026 Chairmanship election, Dr. Kingsley Kelachukwu Okoronkwo has dumped the Labour Party, LP and picked membership card of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
This was contained in a press release signed by Okoronkow and made available to ISUIKWUATO VOICE NEWSPAPER in Abuja on Monday
The letter read: “I am writing to formally notify you of my aspiration to contest for the position of Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) in the forthcoming FCT Election come 2025/26.
“After careful consideration, I have decided to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform to pursue my aspiration. This decision was informed by the current crisis and court litigation plaguing the Labour Party (LP). Which I formerly belonged to.
“As a committed and dedicated individual, I have a comprehensive plan to improve the lives of the citizens of AMAC. I am confident that with your support, I will emerge victorious. And to provide the necessary leadership to drive positive change in our community.
“I call on all my supporters to join me on this new platform, as I believe that with APC, we have a better chance of achieving our goals. Together, we can work towards the betterment of AMAC and the FCT at large.
“I am committed to running a grassroots campaign that engages with the people and addresses their concerns. I believe that with God on our side, victory shall be ours.
Before his declaration to the APC, Okoronkwo was the leading Chairmanship aspirant of the Labour Party in the FCT. In November 2024, Okoronkwo was nominated and inaugurated as Chairman FCT Obidient Harmonization Forum. A position, he has now relinquished.
