In an effort to motivate its workforce, the Police Service Commission, PSC, on Wednesday approved the promotion of 8,053 senior Police Officers.
Recall that on Monday, the Commission promoted 11 Commissioners of Police to the next rank of Assistant Inspector Generals, AIGs. While 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police, DCPs were promoted to substantive Commissioners of Police, CP.
Also on Tuesday, the PSC, announced that 21 Assistant Commissioners of Police, ACPs were promoted to Deputy Commissioners of Police, DCP. While 57 Chief Superintendent of Police, CSP, were elevated to the next rank of Assistant Commissioners.
This was revealed in a statement on Wednesday by the Commission’s spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani.
He stated that a total of 8,053 senior police officers, compromising 1,348 Superintendents of Police, were promoted to the next rank of Chief Superintendents.
Ani added that 876 DSPs were promoted to the rank of Superintendents and 5,829 ASPs to DSPs.
The Commission gave the names of those promoted as Anjuguri Manzah, DCO, Onne Port Division. Ihunwo Josephine, Zonal Public Relations Officer Zone 13 Ukpo. Matilda Ngbaronye, former Public Information Officer, African Union Mission in Somalia. Former Deputy PPRO, Lagos State Command, former DPO Ilupeju and currently DPO Iponri. Opara Angela Precious, IGP Secretariat, Force Headquarters, Abuja; Ajaka Chinedu, Admin Officer, 44 PMF; Felix Ekpoudom, O/C Quick Intervention Unit, Akwa Ibom State and former DPO, Eket; Ehinola Temitope Layomi, 2 PMF, Lagos. Okebugwu Eggbath Chidozie DPO, Abakaliki Road, and Okereke Joy Onyedikachu, O/C Servicom, Enugu State Command.
Some of the 876 DSPs promoted to the next rank of Superintendents include Nnakwe Ugochukwu, Ebonyi State Command. Nioopwa Sondago; Fayiwole Julius Oluwadare; Chijioke Okoroafor and Omotayo Olatunde.
