The Ebonyi State Governor, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has suspended two Commissioners from the State Executive Council.
The Commissioners suspended are the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Moses Ekuma and his Housing and Urban Development counterpart, Francis Ori.
Their suspension was announced on Monday during the weekly State Executive Council meeting held at the centenary city, New Government House, Abakaliki.
The statement was issued by the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Jude Okpor, on Tuesday.
It reads, “Following cases of gross misconduct and dereliction of duties by some government officials and matters related thereto, the Chairman of Council directed the indefinite suspension of the Honourable Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development and months suspension of the Honourable Commissioner for Health respectively.”
Though the statement did not specify the misconduct and dereliction of duties by the two Commissioners.
Recall that the Governor Nwifuru had at the weekend visited busted some staff of the Health Ministry. The six staffers were caught allegedly diverting the Minister of Health materials for personal gains.
