A South Korean lawmaker has revealed that North Korean Government has deployed around 10,900 of its troops to join forces with Russia’s airborne unit and marines in the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.
The South Korean lawmaker while disclosing this on Wednesday said that North Korean has already sent troops that are participating in battles in the war.
The lawmaker, Lee Seong-kweun told reporters, while citing the National Intelligence Service (NIS) stated that North Korea has also shipped additional arms for the war in Ukraine,. These, he said, included self-propelled howitzers and multiple rocket launchers.
Seong-Kweun is a South Korean parliament intelligence committee member.
Recall that North Korean Foreign Minister, Choe Son Hui’s met with Russian President Vladimir Putin during her visit to Moscow this month. She was treated to an unusual term of protocol.
According to NIS, the meeting likely went beyond exchanging greetings. It covered more significant issues including a possible visit to Russia by Kim Jong Un. Another parliament intelligence committee member Park Sun-won said, citing NIS.
Sun-won disclosed that the spy agency was trying to determine the exact number of North Korean troop casualties. And to ascertain whether any had surrendered amid conflicting information.
