The Jigawa State Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwal Danladi Sankara, has been arrested over alleged illicit affairs with a married woman in Kano.
This was confirmed by the Director General of the Kano State Hisbah Board, Abba Sufi on Friday in Kano.
Sufi, stated that Sankara, was arrested after the Board received series of complaints of his immoral activities with the married woman.
“Yes, I can confirm that Sankara was arrested at a hidden location along Lamido Crescent Road, Nasarawa GRA, Kano State. He was arrested with a married woman in an uncompleted building that belongs to him. Unknown to him that we were tracking him based on reports received against him. He is now at Kurmawa Correctional Centre. It is an unfortunate incident,” Sufi stated.
The DG stated that the arrest followed a complaint by the woman’s husband, Nasiru Bulama. He had accused the Commissioner of engaging in an illicit affairs with his wife, Tasleem Baba Nabegu, the mother of his two children.
Sufi said, “Nasiru Bulama filed the complaint with the Kano State Police Command, the Department of State Services, DSS, and the Hisbah Board. He alleged Sankara’s involvement in illicit sexual activities with his wife.”
Following the arrest, the Director General explained that Hisbah will be taking Sankara to court on Monday.
“We have been having problems with Sankara because he is operating illicit drug centres under the guise of hotels. Which are covers for prostitution and drug addiction activities in the State,” Sufi added.
He will be prosecuted on Monday at a competent court of law.
The DG also revealed that Sankara is currently detained at the Kurmawa Correctional Centre in Kano.
