Farming is the process of growing crops and rearing animals. These crops and animals serve as food and resources for other necessities.

Food is primarily essential to existence and life. Without it, no life survives for long. In consequence, the production of food becomes too imperative and consequential to be overemphasized.

Individuals and families; corporate bodies and communities; states and nations; do engage in farming, nay agriculture.

Out of such agricultural activities result abundant yearly harvest of food. Some are for immediate consumption. Some for reservation, and others for exportation.

Any nation that does not think and act in this direction, may eventually become a starving nation.

If the only sources of a nation’s food supplies are other nations, then her citizens stand on the brink of scrounging and possible starvation.

Nigerians are not supposed to number among the starving people of the world. Their land mass is enormous, and their soil type richly blessed. And their vegetation is profuse and lush all year round. Therefore, to guard against famine and assuage routine hunger, all hands must engage in farming.

Family sustenance level of farming is advocated. Whoever that is not disposed should finance the efforts of others who are.

It is quite funny for African nations to complain of or even face hunger. They are over blessed when it comes to agricultural potentials and productions. Therefore, Africans should produce and feed the rest of the world!
