A man (names withheld) has landed in the police net for allegedly killing his neighbour and her son over environmental sanitation dispute in Lekki area of Lagos State. This was disclosed by the Lagos State Police Command on Monday.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, the Command spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the incident happened on Saturday about 10:50 p. m. He, however, stated that investigation was ongoing to ascertain what the suspect used to perpetrate the crime.
Hundeyin said that on Sept. 15, about 22:50, an information was received at the Elemoro Division. The suspect was alleged to have killed one Gloria, who was his neighbour and her son. The incident happened over an argument on cleaning of the environment.
The Spokesman stated that the suspect put the dead bodies in a big sack to dispose off them.
He, however, stated that luck was against him, when other neighbours informed the police at Elemoro Division of the incident.
“Immediately detectives of the Division rushed to the scene, arrested the suspect and recovered the bodies , ” Hundeyin said.
He noted that the bodies had been deposited at the Epe General Hospital mortuary for autopsy and preservation.
According to him, police detectives are still investigating the incident.
