The management of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELFUND on Wednesday disclosed that additional 12 State Government-owned tertiary institutions have been onboarded into the scheme.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Head, Media and Public Relations of the Fund, Nasir Ayitogo. He stated that the onboarding followed the successful submission and verification of data completeness.
The statement read, “With this latest addition, the total number of participating State Government-owned tertiary institutions has now increased. From the initial 36 announced earlier to 48. Students’ data from 121 institutions is outstanding.”
The Fund, however, urged all federal institutions in the country that are yet to submit their student’s data to do so.
It noted that all the data should be submitted to the Student Verification Portal to do so. This is to enable their students to benefit from the loan scheme.
NELFUND also called on States whose data has been captured and successfully uploaded to urgently sensitize their students to apply. It noted that the loan will bring succour to students who are struggling financially. And would also bring guaranteed revenue to the institutions.
