Nigerian Air Force, NAF, operating helicopter on Monday crashed at a location in Tami Village in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

According to an eyewitness report by DAILY TRUST, the incident occurred at approximately 5:00 am, causing significant alarm among local residents.

The report stated that the helicopter was on a routine operational flight. It, however, experienced technical difficulties that led to the crash. “Fortunately, the pilot managed to execute emergency protocols effectively, ensuring his own survival,” the report stated.

According to the eyewitnesses at the scene reported by DAILY TRUST, the pilot emerged from the wreckage largely unscathed.

Daily Trust stated that residents of Tami village quickly mobilized to the crash site. They also rendered assistance where possible and expressed relief that no life was lost.

“We heard a loud noise and rushed to the scene. We were surprised and relieved to see the pilot alive,” DAILY TRUST reported on a local villager who witnessed the crash.

“It was gathered that a team of military officers from the Nigerian Air Force swiftly arrived at the scene. They were there to secure the area and conduct an initial investigation.

“On arrival, they cordoned off the crash site to prevent unauthorized access and to ensure the safety of the villagers. The officers also began preliminary assessments to determine the cause of the crash.

As of the time of this report, the cause of the crash remains unknown.

Also, the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, has not released an official statement regarding the incident.

This is even as several calls have been put across to the Public Relations Officer, Wing Commander Alaere Eyinimiere Obidake. He is the PRO for the Air Training Command, Nigerian Air Force Base, Kaduna.
