This period in the history of Nigeria seems to be the most lamentable, as the masses outcries are all over the places.

Obviously, wherever you turn to, wherever you are going, all you now hear are cries and complaints from the masses.

What is the cause of this unanimous lamentation? Could there be any remedy? If yes, from who and when?

Nigeria is a nation over-blessed with enormous mineral deposits of all ramifications. A nation endowed with great population of gifted manpower of diverse economic potentials.

A nation which is even envied for her humane geographical graces and blessings. Why this irony of great complexities? Why this nagging paradox of poverty in the midst of plenty? And why this choice of lamentation instead ululation that usually welcomes a new government?

The expected government has dashed the hope of the masses on assumption of office. The man with the mantle of the new government has delt a sucker punch on the masses’ plexus. The blow was neither expected nor its accompanying vertigo.

All the combined puzzles have sent the masses sprawling on the ground, with excessive gravity.

The announcement of the fuel subsidy removal by APC government on assumption of office could not go with a lesser description.

That was the beginning of all the woes and lamentations going on in Nigeria right now. The announcement of the fuel subsidy removal immediately inflated the pump prices of petroleum products. And in consequence, the increments sent ripple effects that grossly affected the prices of other commodities in the common markets.

The inflation politics that has arisen from this current predicament has plunged the masses into the abyss of hunger and death.

Parents can no longer feed their dependent children. This is because the prices of food items have made them untouchable.

Most government workers now trek to their offices on foot. Because they can no longer afford transport fare. Even though before the offensive announcement, workers were hardly paid.
