Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu has stated that what he did while climbing the parade vehicle was to prostrate for democracy. This is contrary to what Nigerians feared that the President slipped while trying to get on board the vehicle.

Recall that a trending video of the President tripping at Eagle Square in Abuja on Wednesday, has flooded the social media.

But reacting to the alleged fall, the sagacious Tinubu said, even at that, democracy is worth falling for.

According to footages of the viral video, President Tinubu was seen climbing the vehicle for a parade at Eagle Square in Abuja when he slipped. But he quickly regained his balance and continued with the activities for the Democracy Day celebration.

According to report, the President while speaking about the incident at the Eagles Square during the Dinner Nite at the Presidential Villa, said in Yoruba language that he dobaled for democracy. Meaning that he only paid homage to democracy in Yoruba style.

According to him, while celebrating Democracy, “I ‘dobale’ for democracy,” (meaning I bowed for Democracy), the source said.

Tinubu, however, used the Dinner Nite event to call for the unity of Nigeria irrespective of tribe, religion, or political affiliations.

He maintained that the unity of Nigeria cannot be traded.

Recall that since the incident, reactions have continued to pour in from several Nigerians including members of the opposition.

Many feared that the President might have hurt himself. Others blamed the security aides for not protecting the President from the accident.

However, Tinubu showed no sign of any hurt as he carried out his duty during the Democracy Day celebration.
