The Nigeria Police Force, NPF Headquarters, Abuja on Monday, has announced the death of a Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Abubakar Mohammed Guri. According to report, the DC who worked in the office of COMPOL MOPOL, Force Headquarters, Abuja reportedly slumped and died.
Sources close to the Force Headquarters maintained that the late DCP was in his uniform when he slumped on his seat in his office. He was, however, rushed to the Clinic inside Police headquarters for medical assistance, where he was confirmed dead.
The Force Headquarters have not revealed the cause of the death of the DCP.
Reports have it that officer hours to his demise, the DCP had looked hale and hearty. He was even said to have exchanged pleasantries with officers and staff of the MOPOL department at the Headquarters when he reported for duty on Monday.
A source opined that the DCP’s sudden collapse and death may not be unconnected to heart failure. It noted that in recent times, many police officers out of fatigue have suffered the same fate.
The source maintained that many of the officers’ work round the clock and even at night, without rest
The Force Public Relations Officer has not issued a statement on the death of the DCP.
